Time for another peanut story *g* I blog these little tidbits so I will remember them later. There were a couple things I wanted to put in my LJ that he did a few weeks ago, never found the time, and now I can't remember them :( Aw well, at least this one is fresh and funny!

BTW - does anyone know how I can download my journal entries to my computer, in case LJ decides to go belly-up one day? I really want to preserve these memories.

High drama at the grocery store. )

We took junior to see The Owls of Ga'Hoole Friday night as a reward for making A's in conduct. It was a pretty good movie, clssic good vs evil thing. But what was spectacular, imho, was the computer graphics. I was blown away by the CGI. The feathers, the downy softness, raindrops hitting and sliding off the owls as they flew, the expressions on their faces that perfectly conveyed whatever emotion was going on at the time....it was totally awesome. I always wished I had a talent for computer graphics that way. I would have loved to have had a career in that field. Alas, a programmer I am not, and art talent I have not. But oh well, it was great to see it on the big screen.

One day, I imagine we'll be watching movies that seem like they have real actors but are totally computer generated. Maybe the price of movie tickets will come down by then. LOL I have to imagine it doesn't cost nearly as much to generate a CGI character as it does to pay an actor multi-millions to play a part, and special effects - I have to imagine that cost less (and are much safer) when generated solely by computer. Then again, maybe not? Dunno. It's just a lot of cool, in my opinion. I remember seeing the Final Fantasy: Spirits Within movie on the big screen with it's total CGI, and thought that was awesome at the time. We've come a long way since then.

In honor of the latest issue of Rogue's Book X-Men Legacy, I give you the funny of the day:

Oh Gambit, where art thou in the Marvel books these days?

*sniffles at the lack of love from Marvel writers*

So, I was trying to relax on this chilly afternoon, and my 5yo decides to have a meltdown over something he was working on. I look up and he's all "AAAARRGGH". Well, being the big nerd I am, my mind immediately flashes back to the time my hubby and I watched Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan, and the infamous "KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN" scene.

Suddenly, an idea came up, which sent me in a bout of giggles. I called the boy over and {it took me a few minutes to coach him because I couldn't stop laughing} told him to run into the den where daddy was, hold up both fists, grit his teeth and yell "KHAAAAAAAN". As it played out, I could hear my husband burst out laughing in the other room.

Well, not to be out-geeked, he immediately coached the boy to run back into me and yell "I NEED WARP SPEED NOW SCOTTIE". *grins*

But, I got the final word in, by sending him back to yell "I'M GIVIN' IT ALL SHE'S GOT, CAPTAIN".

I crack my own self up. :D

*chuckles* [livejournal.com profile] gothabilly13 tagged me for this meme, so I thought I'd give it a whirl :)

On to the questions )

And LOL, it's pretty spot-on *grin*

You're The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy!

by Douglas Adams

Considered by many to be one of the funniest people around, you are
quite an entertainer. You've also traveled to the far reaches of what you deem possible,
often confused and unsure of yourself. Life continues to jostle you around like a marble,
but it's shown you so much of the world that you don't care. Wacky adventures continue to
lie ahead. Your favorite number is 42.

So [info]cathedral_junki tagged me on this 10 things about me meme that I've seen floating around.  I think I shall have to diluge her with more Logan/Remy fics as a thanks *laughs*

Ok, hummm...well, I don't really do these things too well, but here goes )

I made a cake for my niece's 6th birthday.  I'm so very proud of the way it turned out that I could just cry!   It took me 3 tries, (for a grand total of 6 boxes of cake mix), before I could get it to cook right.  The first two attempts - well, let's just say the cakes were done on the outside and raw on the inside LOL.  I actually had to use a toilet paper roll wrapped in aluminum foil to leave enough 'air space' for the center to cook.

And here's the cake I made for my baby for his 3rd birthday (there are two versions).

And yet another one that I snarfed from Kracken. You realize I'm only posting the ones that I pass with flying colors, right? LOL

But wait, there's more.... )
jukebox_csi: (Default)
