Wolverine Origins movie
May. 3rd, 2009 08:11 pmI went to see the Wolverine Origins movie this weekend, and I must say that I actually enjoyed it. You gotta take some of the CGI with a grain of salt, but for the most part, it was alright.
Now, being thefanatical Gambit fan that I am, I went into the movie with my mind made-up that it was going to be AU and not exactly like the comic book Gambit I obsess over love. That way, I wouldn't be distressed and could possibly enjoy the Gambit that Taylor Kitsch created. I'm actually quite pleased with his part in the film. Gambit is in the movie for a lot longer than I thought he'd be. I really thought he was only gonna be there for, like, 30 seconds considering some of the blogs I've read. I do think, if there's any future possibilities of having Gambit in a movie, that they need to focus even more on the charm factor and the sarcastic fun quips that Gambit gives out while fighting.
I was disappointed in the no Cajun accent thing, though there is a (very) small amount of twang in his talk which is better than nothing. And there's no red on black eyes (boo!). But, like I said, I consider this story AU anyway, so it's all good.
For the most part, though, I think they did a pretty good job. It's even got my muses stretching a little. Who knows, maybe I can get back to my story Nahemah (which isn't posted here yet) and finish it up!
