So, I was trying to relax on this chilly afternoon, and my 5yo decides to have a meltdown over something he was working on. I look up and he's all "AAAARRGGH". Well, being the big nerd I am, my mind immediately flashes back to the time my hubby and I watched Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan, and the infamous "KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN" scene.

Suddenly, an idea came up, which sent me in a bout of giggles. I called the boy over and {it took me a few minutes to coach him because I couldn't stop laughing} told him to run into the den where daddy was, hold up both fists, grit his teeth and yell "KHAAAAAAAN". As it played out, I could hear my husband burst out laughing in the other room.
Well, not to be out-geeked, he immediately coached the boy to run back into me and yell "I NEED WARP SPEED NOW SCOTTIE". *grins*
But, I got the final word in, by sending him back to yell "I'M GIVIN' IT ALL SHE'S GOT, CAPTAIN".
I crack my own self up. :D

Date: 2010-01-31 04:41 am (UTC)Let me tell ya what he did the other day. I almost fell out laughing, it was so funny.
We have him in swim class learning to swim. So, we showed up a little early and dressed him out in his suit, then sat in the little waiting area. There's a TV playing kid shows and a little play area for the kids. So, he's sitting in dad's lap with his hands behind his head. A few other kids come in with their parents and are playing, but we don't let him down because we forgot his shoes. So, he starts singing, and babbling some story out loud to himself and just generally entertaining himself as he's sitting in his dad's lap.
Well, he must have had an itch in his private spot, so while he's singing, he puts one hand down his pants to scratch. Well, my hubby's a little embarassed (with all the singing that's drawing people's attention and now the pant stunt), so he grabs Peanut's arm and pulls his hand out. Then says, 'son, don't put your hand in your pants'.
And Peanut responds 'Awe dad, I'm just trying to have some fun'.
