I've been watching How to Get Away With Murder, and my question.....WTH is it about?  :(  I am so confused.  All the scene changes between past and present make my head spin.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first episode of Stalker and looking forward to more of that.  I also thought the first episode of Selfie was cute.  I'm not that impressed with NCIS New Orleans...it needs to pick up the pace and not be quite so cheesy.  Scorpion is kinda fun, in a 'park your brain at the door' kinda way.

Some of my favorites have returned and are, so far, really good - Nashville, The Middle, The Goldbergs, Once Upon a Time, NCIS Los Angeles, and Hawaii Five O

So far, the new fall season is pretty good.

I just have to laugh over all the coverage and hype the news outlets are giving to the new Apple watch.  They give the impression that nothing like it has ever been invented before.  And all the oohs and aahs!

But, two of my coworkers have had the Galaxy Gear for months now (one has a Gear Fit), and it does almost all the same stuff, and didn't cost as much as this iWatch is going to.

*shakes head at the silly*

I've been a big fan of Teen Wolf....until this latest season (s4).  I'm just not feeling it.  I don't feel any connection with the new characters they introduced.  It's....disappointing :(

So my husband sometimes likes to watch Big Foot Hunters.  I'm not sure why..it's rather silly..but it cracks me up to hear them say 'There's a squatch in these woods'.

During a recent show, my kid (who was playing with his dinosaur toys nearby) said "That's not bigfoot, dad.  That's an undiscovered bipedal hominid."

What 9 year old talks like that?   o_O

Holy Corny TV!  Batman is playing on IFC!

Does it make me goofy that I thoroughly enjoy watching this campy series?

So this evening, I was fixing my 9 yr old a taco.  As I asked him if he'd like this and that various toppings, he finally just sighed and told me "mom, I'm a simple man.  I just want meat and shell."  o_O

Well, alrighty then.  I'm glad my 9 yr old is 'a simple man'.  lol

Every welcome center I've visited when entering the state of Mississippi have been so nice!  They are full of antiquities and knick knacks; forming inviting and warm scenes.  In some cases, artwork that is unique and detailed from local artists are on display.  There is also a lot of free literature available - places to go, things to do, festival schedules in various parts of the state, historical sites, historical information, recipes, and hotel discounts.  The employees on duty are always friendly and helpful.  And there's always free coffee readily available.

I hope it's been a wonderful day for everyone :)  My 9 year old surprised me with breakfast in bed!  He did it all by himself, too.  I heard him talking in the kitchen, saying things like "what else what else...cereal, perfect!" and things like that.  I thought he was talking with his dad at first, but never heard the deeper sound of the hubby, so I got up to look.  He turned around and saw me, and said "Moooom!  Go back to bed!  I'm fixing you breakfast!"  lol  So I obliged.  Then he yelled from the other room "Where's the trays".  It was just so special.  He made me toast, bacon he cooked in the microwave, a bowl of cereal and a huge glass of sweet iced tea.  My husband was also shocked since he had planned to help.  It was the first time our kid fixed a meal on his own. :)

He's just growing up so fast *sniffles*

Then we went outside to garden a bit.  He found an earthworm and started gushing about it, what species it was, what is related to, other creatures we might find, etc. etc. etc.  My husband rolled his eyes at the exaggerated never-ending fact spewing and finally told our boy "yeh yeh, we got it, we got it".  At that point, my boy looked at him, sniffed a little and said "Dad, you just don't appreciate my genius".  HAHAHA  Smartass little cuss, too :)

I'm so in love with the Teen Wolf series.  But I have a hard time finding Ethan/Danny fics.  If I could get my writing muse to cooperate, I'd write some.  I've got, like, two or three plots floating in my head, but I just can't get them to come out on paper lol.  Oh well, guess I'll just keep watching them in my dreams ;)  So far, in the new season, they've had two eps with no sign of Danny *sobs*  Ethan was in ep two (only briefly though, with his brother).  Hopefully the two will appear together before too long.

This is a week late, due to illnesses all around - flu season is here! - but I just wanted to say Happy New Year everyone!

The past year was a hard one for a lot of people.  For me personally, it was bittersweet.  For the bitter - I lost my godfather, my dad, a close friend of the family, the team of people I've worked with for the past 15 years, and then I lost my job.  The sweet - I gained a new niece and got a new job.  It's been an emotional rollercoaster.

So long 2013, you sucked!  May 2014 be better for everyone!.

Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season!

I've been watching the new season of Legend of Korra (Avatar).  I have to say that Korra, the Avatar, is one big SPOILED BRAT!  I don't find her endearing at all.  She's rude to those trying to help her on a regular basis, which is made worse by the fact that she is always making the wrong choices and believing the wrong people while dissing those that have proven time and again that they love her and support her.  Bleh

So, I'm a fan of the TV show Revenge.  I've been excitedly anticipating the premier of the new season.  But, as I sit here watching it, I'm a little....meh about it.  It seems rather stilted with a few sardonic arched brow moments.  Is it just me, or do they seem to be trying to hard.

Today is the first Father's Day since my dad passed.  I hope it is a great day for all the dads out there.  Enjoy your father, if he's dear to you.  I miss mine terribly.   Here's to you dad, all my love....I'll see you again one day :)

My heart goes out to all those people that were hit by that massive tornado in OK today, especially the two elementary schools that were leveled.  I hope the remaining missing children they find are all alive.  I'm heartbroken over such a huge loss of kids so young.

My father passed away.  He was the greatest man I ever knew.  He meant the world to me, always did, always will.  He was google before there was such a thing as google - I could ask him any obscure thing and he would know something about it.  I will miss him greatly.  I'm just glad his suffering was only a short time from his illness.  I love you, dad.  I hope to see you again one day.

My kid turned 8 the other day.  Guess I can't really have 'toddler adventures' posts anymore since he is way past toddler phase lol.  I can't believe how fast time flies!  He was just born a minute ago.  He found my old School House Rock dvds the other day and wanted to watch them with mommy.  He really loved 3's a Magic Number and Interjections! lol.  Funny cause those were two of my favs too.  That and the Counting by 5s and conjunction junction and the one with the preamble (which actually helped me pass a Civics test in school way back in the day) and The Great American Melting Pot....well too many to count.

Anyhoo, here's some nostalgia for those of you who remember and loved School House Rock.

Today's date is cool.  It won't happen again for something like 88 years.  Happy 12-12-12!  And for those of us that are Gundam Wing fans, happy 1x2 day! :D  1x2/1x2/1x2  Yay!

We went to see Rise of the Guardians last night.  That was an AMAZING film.  We absolutely loved it.  It says something about the enjoyment factor when a good chunk of the audience in the theater applauds a flim at the end, and that is just what happened in the theater we attended.  If you haven't had a chance to go see it yet, I highly recommend it (and stay through the credits to see the extra scene).  Even my crotchety spouse enjoyed the film.  I hope it does well, and I hope it wins the Oscar in the animated series (even though I also enjoyed Hotel Transylvania and ParaNorman).  I will definitely be buying this one when it comes out on DVD.
