The Apple Watch...big deal /not

I just have to laugh over all the coverage and hype the news outlets are giving to the new Apple watch.  They give the impression that nothing like it has ever been invented before.  And all the oohs and aahs! 

But, two of my coworkers have had the Galaxy Gear for months now (one has a Gear Fit), and it does almost all the same stuff, and didn't cost as much as this iWatch is going to.

Worse, I'm not sure why anyone would pay that much for something that does only that. You can buy lot of other electronics that do the same for a tiny fraction of the cost. It's pretty, but... mostly useless. And incredibly expensive. Er, like Apple computers.

Truly! It can be annoying, too. My coworkers have their work email synced on their watches, and when there's something blowing up at work, their watches go crazy with vibrating and such. They catch themselves constantly pulling up their wrists to see what the screen says now. It's just too much, especially since they usually have their phone in their pockets as well. I have to wonder what is the point?

I actually find people looking at their watch more irritating than pulling out their phone.
