Ah, yes, the movies didn't mention Gambit (aka Remy LeBeau) except on a computer screen in the first one. They sucked that way LOL. Gambit is my favorite X-men character. He's been around for many, many years, dating back to some of the earliest beginnings of the X-men, actually. In the comic book, he is Rogue's main squeeze. The character has a pretty big fan base that raises arms/voices at each new X-men movie about the fact that Gambit's not in it *grin*

He's a Cajun from Louisiana, a charmer and a rogue. His powers include the ability to kinetically charge things (which then explode), excellent night vision (his eyes are red on black), and a 'charm' power to persuade people to agree with him (that many in fandom have labeled low-level empathy). He's a dashing, suave character who is primarily a master thief (he's head of the Thieves Guild of New Orleans). His signature/trademark are an extending metal bo staff, playing cards (which he charges and throws like weapons), and a trench coat. My icon is a Gambit pic. Depending on the artist, his look can range from absolutely drool-worthy to rugged/hard. I have a few pics on my website, if you're interested. There's all kinds of sites out there dedicated to the Ragin' Cajun. http://www.lediableblanc.com/ is one I can think of off the top of my head, although it lacks a quotes page (Gambit has some awesome quotes). Also, there's a ton of slash as well as het fics (between Rogue and Gambit, known as ROMY fics) all over the net - the ROMYs are especially rampant at fanfiction.net

I could go on and on and on and on, ad nauseum, about my favorite Cajun *loves him dearly*
